I'm so grateful that this Thanksgiving I will be able to enjoy a wonderful meal with family. We will have enough for seconds (and maybe thirds for some of us). There will also be a warm roof over our heads and even a warm spot for the pets.
Not everyone will be so fortunate. Please try to take an moment to help those in need.
A couple suggestions would be grabbing a few extra canned goods when you shop to donate to the Salvation Army or the TriState Food Bank.
The latest news regarding the autopsy of the late comic Robin WIlliams shows that he was most likely experiencing symptoms of dementia. Add that to the list of Parkinson's disease and depression and it makes it easier to understand why he would be driven to suicide.
November is National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month and National Caregiver Month. In the United States, there are more than 15 million Alzheimer's and dementia caregivers.
Today is Veterans Day and the day we like to set aside to say thanks for all that veterans do. Hopefully you will start the day with free breakfast abourd the LST 325 with the WIKY Morning Show and Browning Funeral Home. This has been a tradition for the past decade and all veterans and their families are invited.

Fresh back from a beach vacation and I think I may have learned a couple things.
1) It's possible to wear so much sunscreen that you can come back several shades lighter than when you left.
2) That perfect shell is ALWAYS just twenty feet further ahead.
3) And even though a trip to the beach always flies by too quickly, you will have sand in your car and in your flip flops for the remainder of the year.

The weather is fair right now and it's also fair season!
Normally we would be drenched in mid-July perspiration, which makes this unseasonably pleasant weather a nice addition to the Warrick County 4-H Fair. Of course you can expect the regular fair fare. Everything from mud volleyball to hog wrestling, fried green tomatoes to fudge, ride, people watching, and lots of livestock watching too! The Warrick Fair continues through July 19th.

This Saturday, June 28th is the annual Spirit Fest to raise funds for the Spirit Medical Fund.
I was lucky enough to meet this spirited gal named Spirit at last year's event. She is getting older and is lucky to have a wonderful person that adopted her to see her into her golden years. Although without help from the community she would have never had that chance. Here is an adorable picture of Spirit that the Co
Last Saturday over 120 walkers along with their strollers and dogs showed up for the first WIKY Deaconess Healthier You Walk of the season at Wesselman Park. It's been a long, cruel winter and i think everyone was happy to get back to it. I'm always happy to see the familiar faces and the new ones as well.
Maxine's Cafe & Bakery on Green River Road was one of my favorite lunch spots in the Tri-State, so I was very bummed when I found out they were closing after 24 years. The economy and increased competition were just a couple of reasons the owners decided to pull the plug. It was a cute place with wonderful, homemade food, and I will dearly miss it.
So, I tried to re-create their curried chicken salad....since it was my absolute favorite. Here's the recipe I came up with:
3 boneless, skinless chicken breats
3 stalks celery, chopped
We had some fun with this topic this morning.....thanks for all of your calls with the 80's movies we just can't live without. Here's the list in no particular order:
