Boy, did I open up a can of worms yesterday when I mentioned that I don't let my kids have unsupervised access to the computer and we don't have traditional tv in our house...!! It was as if i said I lock my kids in a cave in the dark!!

All the people who produce The Delilah show work really hard to make great radio and it’s because they truly believe, like me, we have a mission of spreading love and hope thru the airwaves. It feels really good to do something you enjoy and feel like you’re making a difference in lives of other people. And the really neat thing is that everyone on my staff is so different from each other! I mean, really very different, from different backgrounds and different walks of life.

I love the fact that the people in my circle are so diverse. I love that no two are alike.

Have you ever received a “tongue lashing” from someone – a really harsh scolding? Maybe you got a tongue lashing for being a misbehaved child. Maybe you were scolded at work for a project that went south. The tongue is such a strong instrument of power. It wields the power to lift up and unite and create joy.

My heart was forever changed by my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Lyons. Her son had been in Vietnam, and after the war he stayed there to care for orphans. We were encouraged to bring in our used clothes and books, and we boxed them up and sent them to these kids. We collected soda pop cans to pay for the shipping, and it changed my heart forever.

Being able to actually DO something to help those who are less fortunate, instead of just reading about it, changed me on a cellular level. I pray that teacher knows how much she impacted my life. If your kids want to be Jr.

On Sunday, March 11 the Lord called our beloved Sammy Young D’zolali Rene home to heaven. I had adopted Sammy from an orphanage in Ghana, West Africa two years ago, and he instantly became a part of our extended family and a huge part of our hearts. Sammy’s love and happiness were infectious, his broad smile would light up the room.

Delilah: Mother, grandmother, radio personality, artist, gardener, horse enthusiast, PIG MIDWIFE! Sister sows on my farm just gave birth to the most adorable little piggies. 14 in all!

Of all the things in life I imagined myself doing, cutting piggy umbilical cords and tying them off with string was NOT on my list. They are very small but are starting to squeal and run around!

So many of you have asked about my little piggies, so I thought I'd share my pictures with you. They are growing everyday and so cute.

You would have laughed if you saw me picking berries today. I wore a home-made bucket, a cut up plastic milk carton strapped to my waist with a leather belt, work gloves, cowboy boots and a big stick to pull the vines down from the high spots. I looked like a total goof ball, my teens would have died of embarrassment if they saw me!

Such a sad, sad weekend, I am so heart sick, watching the images coming out of Japan...the earthquake, the tsunami, the thousands of lives lost, the fires and now the explosions at the nuclear power plants. I don't know what is more terrifying, the events that are happening, or the statements being made by officials declaring "there is no threat to human health" after the explosions at the nuclear plants...right...we gotta PRAY!

My heart is breaking for the people in New Zealand, and also around the world with fighting and so many being killed...please pray for survivors to be found and rescued quickly from the New Zealand earthquake. I'm praying especially for any children that are trapped and terrified, that God will send angels to comfort them and that they would be rescued...

I sent out some “Little Star” books over the holidays and I just read some really nice thank you notes from listeners who received them. That made my day! Don’t forget to say a sincere “thank you” for even the simplest gifts: the gift of time, a favor, a good deed, gifts that are hand made or home cooked. Those two words can mean a lot to someone who took the time to make your day.

Friday night was the "Festival of Chimes and Lights" in our little town, and what a fun night it was! Singing, the highschool band performed, I got to be a judge for the pet parade, lots of adorable animals in Christmas costumes. Author Debbie Macomber (a neighbor and dear friend) debuted her NEW Mrs. Miracle movie and the Christmas tree was lit for the entire town to enjoy! Love living in a small community!

Here we are going into another weekend! Are you going to work or play this weekend? Are you going to do both? Or perhaps you'd rather play but your honey has another idea. I am talking about the well-known but not always popular "honey-do" list.

While I was in the studio recording one evening, I heard Producer Leisa on the phone to her hubby, "Don't forget to clean out the gutters!" Yes, as the show was going on, Leisa was stating her "honey-do" list for Jeremy.

"...we decided we didn't care what the popular kids thought of us, we would always be there for each other. Now, 30+ years later, we are STILL friends, and we are STILL goofy and we STILL have fun!!"   Delilah shares a letter from 14-year-old Miranda, who is being bullied at school.

Dear Delilah,

As difficult as it will be to keep my kids contained at the dinner table on Halloween night, I want to make sure they eat something healthy before they tear into mounds of chocolates, caramels, bubble gum, lollipops, taffy, licorice, candy corn, toffee and, well, you get the idea. To accomplish such a task, I will have to get creative so I'm planning an enticing yet easy, frightful feast!

Have had a busy, busy few days. I hosted an event called "The Pink tie Gala", a fund raiser for the Komen for the cure foundation...met so many lovely listeners, and had a great time celebrating life! The event was coordinated by a brave soul named Susan Groves, and she did an excellent job organizing a beautiful event!

On my best days, I'll take my left hand and pat my right shoulder and compliment myself on a beautiful garden. On regular days, I love to play in the dirt with flowers and plants and bushes. What you spend time on today in a garden will be all the more beautiful tomorrow.

If you've listened to my show for any length of time, you know I am like the old woman who lives in a shoe with so many kids I don't know what to do. Three of my 10 children came to me thru birth, the rest came to me thru adoption, some when they were very young and some as adults.

I received this letter:

Dear Delilah,

I am writing you because I know where your heart is, and I know if you are able, you will help. Snowball Express is an awesome organization that brings happiness to the children of our fallen heroes since 9/11.
