Just for fun, here's the original Mercury Theatre radio broadcast of "War of the Worlds" from October 30, 1938. The program, starring Orson Welles, caused a nationawide panic. Listeners who missed the program's introduction thought they were hearing news coverage of an attack from Mars.
In the current issue of Esquire Magazine, they interview Jonathan Goldsmith, the actor who plays "The Most Interesting Man in the World" in the beer commercials. Turns out he's pretty interesting..

70. Delta Zeta USI – Pumpkin Cake Balls. Only thing missing is the stick. Excellent.
71. Impact Ministries – Cajun Shrimp Soup (9 from judges) and Buckeyes (chocolate covered peanut butter balls). “Real peanut butter flavor.”
72. Montessori Academy – Gator Taters. “Excellent taste.”

Our 2013 Tasting Team included my friend Carla and her daughter Casey, my friends Darrin and Jeff and Chuck Belanger, the Food and Beverage manager of the Tropacana Evansville. We went thru a block and a half of Franklin Street on Monday – here’s our review in numerical order:

49 Evansville Lutheran School - BBQ Turkey, Funnel Cake Fries.
47 Evansville Racing Pigeon Club – “Mother in Law” Tamale, chili, cheese and Fritos on a hot dog bun. 9 from judges. “Different.”
48 Salem UCC – Brownie Sundae with homemade brownie and homemade ice cream. Judges give it a 10.
49 GOP Diner – Boneless West Virginia Hot Dog.
