From time to time on the WIKY Morning Show, we enjoy solving what we call “little mysteries.”  We received a call this morning from Donna Hollander who lives off Sharon Road in Newburgh.  She and her family have been hearing a weird sound for the past couple of weeks that she said sounded like something from “War of the Worlds.”  What in the world could it be? 

I talked about this Monday on the WIKY Morning Show when I was filling in.  The YWCA of Evansville is celebrating their 100th anniversary with a salute to the 100 Women of Evansville.   Here's a link to the story in the Courier Press:

On the WIKY Morning Show we posed the question - where is the ONE place you'd take a visiting friend or family member?

Among the several calls and emails we received, The Hilltop, Gerst House, Moonlite, China Bistro, Angelo's, Piece of Cake, and the Log Inn were the most popular restuarants mentioned.  Audubon Park, Garden of the Gods, Angel Mounds, the Evansville museum and planetarium downtown, CMOE, Casino Aztar, Mesker Park Zoo and the LST 325 were the most popular attractions.

Here's one of those studies that seems to defy gender stereotypes . . . until you think about it and say, "You know, that actually makes sense."  According to a new study, men spend more money on impulse buys than women:  Men spend approximately $41 on impulse buys versus $31 for women.

I have talked about various Christian music festivals on the air for a few weeks now, but I wanted to give you a mass list of area festivals where you can hear some of your favorite Christian artists this summer!

The Public Education Foundation is having their 2^nd annual Confections of the Rich and Decadent, The Ultimate Bake Sale, and Amy Walker of the PEF successfully recruited Diane and me to donate a baked goodie.  Last year, you may recall, I offered a Coca-Cola chocolate cake, the first thing I had ever baked.  A very nice woman bought it and actually said it was tasty.  Clearly, she was just being polite.  But I thanked her anyway.

Check this out!  The peeps at UCLA recently finished a 3 year study testing men and women's stress levels around the house. (I'm not sure who thinks these things up, but I digress.) Anyway, they monitered people's brain chemicals to see exactly what stressed people out and what chilled them.

This story has been in the news for a little while, but I finally had to comment on it.

Last week on “Good Morning America,” there was a story about a mom giving her 8-year-old Botox. I don’t think you’ll be surprised to find out the child competes in pageants. Britney Campbell and her mom Kerry appeared on the show to talk about her “beauty regimen.”

I love shopping for clothes between seasons.  You know, when stores are thinning out their inventory and put a lot of stuff on sale.  Dillards does a wonderful job of slashing end-of-season apparel and you can get great deals on decent clothes.  Generally, you also have a limited selection.  Here’s the shirt we talked about on the WIKY Morning Show.   I bought it last Fall for $8.  I wore it a few times before my wife noticed it and asked, “Where did you get that ugly shirt?”  I don’t think it’s that bad and judging
