Now those are some Christmas lights!

This morning's Culture Quiz had to do with 34% of Americans refuse to decorate their homes for the Christmas season.

Obviously, these people don't fall into that percentage! Check out the video and be thankful you're not their neighbor!!

On the Road Again

Friday morning, the WIKY Morning Show will be on the road broadcasting from Wal-Mart to benefit the Salvation Army's annual "Toy Town" toy drive.  DJB will be at the Newburgh location and I'll be at the Westside Wal-Mart starting at 6 a.m.

Dishwashers aren't just for dishes anymore.

On the show this morning we brought up an interesting topic......is there anything other than dishes that you wash in your dishwasher?  My dad has washed his baseball hats in the dishwasher for years and swears by it!  He says they turn out just great, so who am I to argue with his logic?  It turns out that a lot of people are in agreement with my dad and keep their chapeaus clean the dishwasher way!

Fall TV Shows

Tonight, one of my favorite shows on television is back...."Human Target" on FOX.  Is it a great show? Certainly not, but it's got cool characters, lots of action, is highly entertaining and has some major eye candy in the lead actor, Mark Valley!  Besides, I'm just sick to death of all the cop and "procedural" shows that are currently gumming up the primetime schedule!

Finally......Another Royal Wedding!

In case you missed the news, Prince William and Kate Middleton are finally engaged!! After 8 years of will-they or won't-they, the supense is over and a Spring or Summer of 2011 wedding is expected.  I guess I'll have to stay up all night to watch this one, just like I did when Charles and Diana tied the knot!  Here's the complete story from People Magazine.

Odd Thanksgiving Foods

With Thanksgiving just over a week away, we decided to chat about some odd foods you've had at Thanksgiving.  We heard from lots of listeners about things like Saltine Cracker Stuffing, Circus Peanut Jello Salad (EWWW!) and Cheese and Pineapple Casserole.  We thought that sounded a bit odd, but plenty of people have tried it and love it.  So, I went online and found that even Paula Deen makes it, so it must be good.  Here's the recipe for you........and Happy Thanksgiving!

Pet Nicknames

This week on the WIKY Morning Show, you've probably heard me doing commercials for PetSmart and their National Holiday Pet Adoption Event which happens this weekend at PetSmart on the Eastside of Evansville.  It is such a wonderful thing to adopt a pet and gain a new member of the family.

Supermarket Mojo

In our house, Jeff does most of the cooking, which is fine with me.  He's very creative in the kitchen, and like most creative types, he has his "routine" when he goes to the grocery store.  As a matter of fact, whenever we go to the store together, I get accused of stealing his "supermarket mojo."

First Date Nightmares

Earlier this week, we had a Love Court entry about a first-date deal-breaker and it's generated another topic of conversation.  First Date Nightmares!

We had plenty of people call and email with horror stories about first dates gone  bad, but this has to be my favorite of them all.  Here's the email I got:

Talk About Divine Intervention

Sometimes on the morning show, we'll share a story that is simply amazing.  This morning we had one of those stories.  Straight from the news wire, here it is:

"A 15 month-old baby girl survived a fall from a seventh-floor apartment in Paris almost unscathed after bouncing off a cafe awning and into the arms of a passer-by.

The infant had been playing unsupervised with her four-year-old sister when she somehow fell out the window.
