**  With all of the celebrity deaths we've reported over the past couple of weeks, we had some good news this morning concerning Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees.  He was near death last week in a coma as he battle pneumonia.  But, he woke up from the coma over the weekend, and although he is quite weak, he is responding to his doctors well!

**  Huge news in the world of Major League Baseball over the weekend: Phil Humbar of the Chicago White Sox pitched a perfect game over the Seattle Mariners!  It's only the 21st perfect game in Majo

** Another celebrity obit this morning to pass along, and this was a big one for Diane.  Jonathan Frid, who played the vampire Barnabus Collins on the original "Dark Shadows," passed away at the age of 87.  For a whole generation, their afternoon wasn't complete without watching the gothic soap that was "Dark Shadows!" Diane even had this Barnabus Collins "Dark Shadows" Board Game!

**  Of course, the big news item yesterday afternoon was the passing of Dick Clark at age 82.  I think everyone has their own memory of what he meant to them, whether it was watching him on "American Bandstand," on "The $10,000 Pyramid," or watching him countdown to the New Year on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve."  The man was a pioneer in so many facets of the radio and television industry.  I found this obit on  Dick Clark online yesterday, and I thought it was fascinating.  Click on this link to check it out.

** Happy Tax Day!! Yes, don't forget that your taxes are due today by midnight. We mentioned that due to budget cuts in the U.S. Postal Service, many post offices won't be open late this evening, so you'll have to get them in during normal postal office hours.

** It's one of our favorite movies of all time, "Young Frankenstein," and now the musical is coming to The Centre on April 29th!  All this week in the Culture Quiz at 8:20, we'll have a pair of tickets you can win. We're pretty sure Frau Blucher and The Monster will be there.....how about "Abby Normal?"

** It's Friday the 13th!! We had some fun this morning exploring superstitions and the goofy ones some of us have.  Diane admitted that she goes out of her way to avoid stepping on sidewalk cracks and she holds her breath when she drives by a cemetery.  Click on the link below to read some of the other superstitions that people have:

Why does my dog stare at me?

There are many days when I'm working at my computer, and my dog Bailey will sit and stare at me. Check out the pic:

It turns out that dogs stare at their owners on a regular basis.  I came across this article, written by a veterinarian.  Fascinating stuff:

It’s not hard to imagine why a loyal dog might stare devotedly at his master. It’s the stuff of Old Yeller, White Fang and Lassie –– starers, all.

Things we can't live without

On the show this morning, we were talking about food or beverages that you look forward to having every day, and when you can't get them.....it puts you in a mood!

It seems that it was the beverages that most of us can't live without.  For me, it's my Vitamin Water Zero. I bring a bottle with me every morning and I drink it during the course of the show.  If I open the frig at home and we're out....my whole day has gotten off on the wrong foot!

For DJB, every morning at 9, he goes down to the kitchen and gets his bottle of Diet Mt.

WIKY Morning Show Dec. 5th

** Tonight on Fox, it's the American Country Awards . . . not to be confused with the American Country Music Awards. Or the CMT Awards. Here's a message from Fox to help clear things up.

**  Will Ferrell has apparently decided to start doing beer commercials. And not for Budweiser or Coors. He's doing ads for Old Milwaukee.
