All March Events Wednesday, March 10, 2010   Artist Gabriel Vigil      (Educational) Ongoing Event, Ends 4/10/2010 Location: St. Meinrad Library Gallery The Archabbey Library Gallery, St. Meinrad, IN, is presenting an art exhibit by Santa Fe, NM, artist Gabriel Vigil, who specializes in artwork of saints. The exhibit will be on display March 1 through April 10. Vigil’s two-dimensional art is called retablos, and the three-dimensional sculptural pieces are known as bultos. This traditional art form originated centuries ago in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. He has been producing his creations since he was a teenager. Library hours are: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.-noon, 1-5 p.m. and 7-10 pm.; Friday, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m.; Saturday, 9-11 a.m., 1-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m.; and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. Special hours: March 29-April 1, no evening hours; April 2-4, closed.
