Enjoying the good news for a change

Last night as Jeff and I were riveted to the TV watching the first of the Chilean miners being rescued, I realized something.  I realized how rare it is to watch "good" news on television.  It's not just rare, it's darn near impossible.

As of now, I think the number of rescued miners is up to about 13 or 14 out of the 33 who were trapped.  DJB and I discussed the feelings of panic this situation has brought up in all of us.  I can't even imagine being trapped underground for 69 days and how you would mentally deal with that.  And, can you imagine how difficult it would be to be in that escape pod in that small tunnel? Yikes!

I'm so happy for the miners and their families that this ordeal is almost over.  When all we've been hearing about are the "tough economic times" and all of the political name-calling, it's just refreshing for everyone to come together for an international "feel-good" story!
