**  DEMI MOORE announced yesterday that she's filing for divorce from ASHTON KUTCHER.

Here's her statement . . . quote, "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton.

"As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.  This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."

Ashton, not surprisingly, posted his reaction on Twitter.  He said, quote, "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi.  Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail.  Love and Light, AK."

(--It's been estimated that Demi and Ashton will be fighting over a $290 MILLION fortune.)  Here's the report from Fox:

**  The 30th anniversary of Natalie Wood's drowning death off Catalina Island is later this month.  Authorities in Los Angeles have announced that they've re-opened the case.

--Natalie was boating off the coast of Santa Catalina Island with her then-husband ROBERT WAGNER and CHRISTOPHER WALKEN when she drowned.  She was 43 years old.

--The L.A. County Sheriff's Department released a statement saying, quote, "Recently, sheriff’s homicide investigators were contacted by persons who stated they had additional information about the Natalie Wood Wagner drowning.  Due to the additional information, sheriff’s homicide bureau has decided to take another look at the case."

Apparently, the case was reopened thanks to a book called "Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour" by a woman named MARTI RULLI, and DENNIS DAVERN.  Here's the author's take on the situation:

** Regis Philbin's last day on "Live With Regis & Kelly" happens today.  He appeared on David Letterman last night, and Dave gave him a "retirement" gift......a Vespa scooter!  Regis wanted to take it for a spin, and had a little accident!  Here's the audio:

** The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 1" opened at midnight all over the country and theatres were packed with "Twi-hards" who couldn't wait to see the next-to-last installment in the vampire saga.

In a nutshell, this is what the movie is about:

After Edward and Bella's wedding, Bella finally gets her wish to become a glittery vampire, because her body's too weak to survive her unexpected pregnancy.  But the birth of their little half-breed is seen as a threat by both the Volturi and the werewolves.

** How about this for an incredible story?   A plane had to make an emergency landing in New York yesterday, after the pilot got locked in the bathroom because of a faulty latch. And the co-pilot got freaked out when a guy with a, quote, "thick foreign accent" tried to get him to open the cockpit door. Here's audio of the co-pilot calling the tower and explaining the situation. It turns out the pilot gave the guy with the accent the code to get into the cockpit. But the co-pilot didn't let him in, because he thought he might be a terrorist!  Here's the report:

Makes me think of Karen Black trying to land a pilotless airplane in "Airport 1975."  A cheesy classic!
