War on Hunger
Annually, The Salvation Army comes to our community in an ongoing nationwide War On Hunger. In Evansville, more people are going hungry. Maintaining balance between supply and demand is difficult due to the amount of need in our community. Last year the Salvation Army provided the hungry with 51,604 meals in their daily soup kitchen, which is up from 41,457 in 2011 and 19,021 people benefitied from the emergency food pantry services during 2012.
With these large numbers, The Salvations Army's fight to feed out local familes begins with you! We have FOUR ways you can help.
On Friday April 19th you can contribute to the one day food drive at participating Schnuck's Markets. (West Lloyd Expressway, Washington Ave. and Newburgh Bell Oaks Plaza)
